Calculating the Limits of Detection in Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy: Not as Easy as It Might Seem

چکیده
The objectives of this paper will be to discuss the issues related determination limits detection (LOD) in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) analytical applications. derivation commonly used ‘3-sigma over slope’ rule and its evolution towards new official definition recently adopted by International Union Pure Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) illustrated. Methods for extending calculation LOD LIBS multivariate analysis also discussed, using as an example Cu traces cast iron samples LIBS.
